caramelpudding

Flan is a Spanish dessert, but it is popular in many countries around the world. There are many different variations of flan, but the basic ingredients are always the same.

Here is a recipe for caramel pudding flan:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 (12-ounce) can evaporated milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
  2. In a small saucepan, combine sugar and water. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until sugar has melted and caramelized to a deep amber color.
  3. Immediately pour caramel into six ramekins or a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  4. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, condensed milk, evaporated milk, and vanilla extract.
  5. Pour custard mixture over caramel in ramekins or baking dish.
  6. Place ramekins or baking dish in a larger baking dish. Fill the larger baking dish with enough hot water to come halfway up the sides of the ramekins or baking dish.
  7. Bake in preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until custard is set.
  8. Let flan cool completely before serving.

To serve, run a knife around the edge of the flan to loosen it from the ramekin or baking dish. Invert the flan onto a plate and let the caramel drip down the sides. Enjoy!
