Flan is a Spanish dessert, but it is popular in many countries around the world. There are many different variations of flan, but the basic ingredients are always the same.
Here is a recipe for caramel pudding flan:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 6 large eggs
- 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 (12-ounce) can evaporated milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
- In a small saucepan, combine sugar and water. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until sugar has melted and caramelized to a deep amber color.
- Immediately pour caramel into six ramekins or a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, condensed milk, evaporated milk, and vanilla extract.
- Pour custard mixture over caramel in ramekins or baking dish.
- Place ramekins or baking dish in a larger baking dish. Fill the larger baking dish with enough hot water to come halfway up the sides of the ramekins or baking dish.
- Bake in preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until custard is set.
- Let flan cool completely before serving.
To serve, run a knife around the edge of the flan to loosen it from the ramekin or baking dish. Invert the flan onto a plate and let the caramel drip down the sides. Enjoy!
