Chicken Pasta
Ingredients:
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 12 ounces pasta, cooked al dente
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions:
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook until browned on all sides.
- Add the onion and garlic to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, oregano, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 15 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
- Stir in the cooked pasta and Parmesan cheese. Serve immediately.
Tips:
- For a creamier sauce, add 1/2 cup of heavy cream or half-and-half to the sauce along with the Parmesan cheese.
- If you don't have dried oregano, you can substitute 1 teaspoon of fresh oregano, chopped.
- For a spicier dish, add 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes to the sauce.
- Serve the chicken pasta with a side salad or crusty bread.
Enjoy!
Here are some additional tips for making the best chicken pasta:
- Use a good quality olive oil. The olive oil will add flavor to the dish.
- Don't overcook the chicken. The chicken should be cooked through, but still tender.
- Don't overcook the pasta. The pasta should be cooked al dente, or firm to the bite.
- Add the Parmesan cheese just before serving. This will help to keep the cheese from melting and becoming greasy.
I hope you enjoy this delicious chicken pasta!
