Garlic Bread
Ingredients:
- 1 loaf of Italian or French bread, sliced in half lengthwise
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Parmesan cheese, optional
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- In a small bowl, combine the butter, garlic, salt, and pepper.
- Spread the butter mixture over the cut sides of the bread.
- If desired, sprinkle the Parmesan cheese over the bread.
- Place the bread on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and the butter is melted.
- Serve immediately.
Tips:
- For a more flavorful garlic bread, use roasted garlic instead of minced garlic.
- You can also add other herbs to the butter mixture, such as oregano, basil, or thyme.
- If you don't have Parmesan cheese, you can use shredded mozzarella cheese or any other shredded cheese you like.
- To make garlic bread ahead of time, assemble the bread and butter mixture and then wrap it tightly in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for up to 24 hours before baking.
- When you're ready to bake, remove the bread from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before baking.
Enjoy!
