Pizza
Ingredients:
- 1 cup warm water (105-115 degrees F)
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 2 tablespoons olive oil, plus more for brushing on the dough
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
- Your favorite pizza toppings
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let stand for 5 minutes, until the yeast is foamy.
- Add the olive oil, salt, and 2 cups of flour. Mix until a dough forms.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes, until the dough is smooth and elastic.
- Grease a large bowl with olive oil. Place the dough in the bowl, turning to coat all sides with oil. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C).
- Punch down the dough and divide it in half. Roll out each half of the dough into a 12-inch circle.
- Brush the dough circles with olive oil. Top with your favorite pizza toppings.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Tips:
- For a crispier crust, preheat a baking sheet in the oven before adding the pizza.
- To prevent the dough from sticking to the baking sheet, lightly grease it with olive oil or cooking spray.
- For a more flavorful crust, add garlic powder, Italian seasoning, or other herbs to the dough before rolling it out.
- Get creative with your toppings! There are endless possibilities when it comes to pizza toppings. So have fun and experiment until you find your perfect combination.
Enjoy!
