Pizza

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup warm water (105-115 degrees F)
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, plus more for brushing on the dough
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
  • Your favorite pizza toppings

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let stand for 5 minutes, until the yeast is foamy.
  2. Add the olive oil, salt, and 2 cups of flour. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes, until the dough is smooth and elastic.
  4. Grease a large bowl with olive oil. Place the dough in the bowl, turning to coat all sides with oil. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C).
  6. Punch down the dough and divide it in half. Roll out each half of the dough into a 12-inch circle.
  7. Brush the dough circles with olive oil. Top with your favorite pizza toppings.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Let cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Tips:

  • For a crispier crust, preheat a baking sheet in the oven before adding the pizza.
  • To prevent the dough from sticking to the baking sheet, lightly grease it with olive oil or cooking spray.
  • For a more flavorful crust, add garlic powder, Italian seasoning, or other herbs to the dough before rolling it out.
  • Get creative with your toppings! There are endless possibilities when it comes to pizza toppings. So have fun and experiment until you find your perfect combination.

Enjoy!
